REVERSE 911® is a communications solution that uses a patented combination of database and GIS mapping technologies to deliver outbound notifications through landlines and cell-phones. In case of an emergency, the Providence Emergency Management Agency can quickly target a precise geographic area of the City and saturate it with thousands of notification calls per hour. The system's interactive technology provides immediate interaction with call recipients and aids in rapid response to specific needs o mf the community. (your regular house phone is already part of this system and there is no need to add that number here. However Cell Phones are not and you are encouraged to register your cell phone)

The information that you provide may help emergency responders meet your needs during an emergency.

Citizens know they can rely on the Providence Emergency Management Agency to be there for them when disaster strikes. As an agency, we work to meet immediate emergency needs for food, clothing and shelter, as well as medical and emotional support but, we cannot do that job alone. We need people like  YOU to become trained volunteers, able and willing to perform a variety of critical roles during emergencies. Partnering with the Rhode Island Red Cross our Agency provides all training free of charge. Volunteer hours are flexible and new volunteers are always needed.
